Music and musicians

A morris dance not only requires several dancers, it requires at least one musician - it's hard to dance without any music!

Music for the Morris can be played on a wide variety of instruments, such as accordian, melodeon, concertina, fiddle, or mandolin.

We have had a variety of musicians over the years including several accordianists, the most experienced of which is Mike Howley (below) who still plays with us when he can. Our regular musicians (left) are Brian and Pete, and Rick when he is not dancing. Brian plays violin, banjo and other instruments, Pete accordian and Rick fiddle.
